As a boudoir photographer, I have shot women of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and races. That is one of the things I LOVE about my job. I get the honor of showing ALL women how uniquely beautiful they are and give them a new perspective of themselves! However, I often hear from my clients that before they finally booked their shoot they were afraid that they couldn’t have a boudoir shoot because they weren’t a model, or at least not what society’s standard of a model is. They thought because they weren’t tall and a size 0 that they shouldn’t have one done. I assure you that this is NOT true, and no modeling experience is required!
For a boudoir shoot, all you need is yourself. You don’t have to be a certain size, height, or color. I know having a boudoir shoot done is a scary thought, being so open and letting someone see your imperfections isn’t easy. But, those imperfections as you see them, make you, YOU! They are just as beautiful as your heart and soul. Nobody and no BODY is perfect, models included. Every single person can have the experience of a boudoir photoshoot and benefit from it!
I know that we all have parts of ourselves that we do not like, so, of course, we would not like those showcased in photos. That is why when you are preparing for your photoshoot you get to fill out a questionnaire that helps me get to know you better. You get to let me know what you would not like photographed, and the things you love about your body as well. I will be able to direct you in poses that help flaunt those things you love about yourself. I may even get the chance to show you how beautiful one of the flaws you thought you had are.
Also, like I said earlier about not even models being perfect...there is also this amazing tool called, photoshop! Photoshop is our friend and not a dirty word. This is what helps models look the way that the magazine portrays them. I can use photoshop to assist in removing something you don’t like or by doing a little smoothing. You also get to tell me the extent of editing you’d like done to your photos, in that questionnaire I mentioned earlier.
I want everyone to know how gorgeous and sexy they are. You don’t have to be a model to appreciate your body and love the skin that you’re in! Skinny, plus-size, or athletic build, are all beautiful! I have photographed so many of all and let me tell you, they all saw themselves in a whole new, beautiful way! I am a professional, and boudoir photography isn’t a part-time gig for me. I know how beneficial it is and confident in my abilities to photograph you to not only look but feel your best as well.
